Inter Miami reached Campeones Cup by winning MLS Cup 2025 presented by Audi, setting up the eighth edition of the annual competition that pits the reigning MLS champion against LIGA MX's most recent Campéon de Campeones.
Captained by back-to-back Landon Donovan MLS MVP Lionel Messi, Inter Miami have dreams of becoming the first repeat MLS Cup champions since the 2011-12 LA Galaxy.

La Máquina will be confident in their chances as reigning Clausura and Campeón de Campeones winners, having also accrued the highest point total across both phases in the past two LIGA MX seasons.
In turn, Cruz Azul were named the best club of the season at last year's LIGA MX Balón de Oro awards. Mexican international Erik Lira was also honored among the league's best players before starring for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Former LAFC defender Omar Campos, Colombian international center back Willer Ditta, Argentine midfielder José Paradela and Mexican international midfielder Carlos Rodríguez all joined Lira on the 2026 LIGA MX All-Star Roster.
