Friday was a good time to be an MLS U-15 side at the Generation adidas Cup.
To finish off the group stage of the first-ever U-15 version of the tournament, Toronto FC, LAFC, Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls all beat Liga MX opposition. CD Guadalajara, Club Leon, CF Monterrey and Cruz Azul were on the docket, and final scorelines are below.
Friday's results:
- LAFC 2-0 Chivas
- Toronto 3-0 Cruz Azul
- Philadelphia 2-0 Leon
- Red Bulls 1-0 Monterrey
Now, Toronto will face Chivas in the final tomorrow at 1:30 pm ET on Twitch.
The group stage – in which four MLS sides faced four Liga MX sides – ended with great success from MLS. Three of four teams ended the group stage with a positive goal difference. TFC topped the MLS group with a perfect 12 points in four matches, while LAFC finished in second with nine. The Union had seven and the Red Bulls six.
Chivas won their group with six points, ahead of Club Leon's three.
