The Chicago Fire were coming off a 6-2 shellacking at the hands of D.C. United when they faced the Philadelphia Union on Saturday. But this week's result was vastly different.
Chicago beat the Union 3-0 at Toyota Park thanks to some standout performances all over the field. Michael de Leeuw registered a goal and an assist to lead the attack, while Joao Meira had a sterling game along the backline.
Sean Johnson further solidified his place between the pipes for Veljko Paunovic's team, making five saves, some in spectacular fashion.
