TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Roster Update
Atlanta United have made a pair of moves to boost their squad for the MLS is Back Tournament starting in July, as Jon Gallagher returned from his loan with Aberdeen FC and Manuel Castro's loan from Estudiantes to Atlanta has been extended through the end of 2020, the club announced Monday.
Castro, 24, joined Atlanta on loan this winter. It was set to expire on June 30. The winger made one appearance off the bench for ATL UTD in the Concacaf Champions League against Club America after making 27 appearances in a season with Estudiantes.
Gallagher, also 24, spent 2019/20 with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership. He made 33 appearances across all competitions with the club, including six in the Europa League.
Both Castro and Gallagher join Brooks Lennon as right-sided options on the squad. Atlanta return to play in Group E of the MLS is Back Tournament against the New York Red Bulls on July 11.
