Atlanta United post shutout milestone, Jeff Larentowicz joins 400 club

In addition to moving above the playoff line, Atlanta United saw a couple new milestones met in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Orlando City on Sunday.

Not only did Atlanta win a fourth straight, but they did so again via shutout. The run of four consecutive clean sheet victories matches with an MLS record set eight previous times.

Atlanta make that record their own on Wednesday when they visit the Vancouver Whitecaps (10 pm ET | TSN, MLS LIVE in the US), who have scored a Western Conference-low 11 goals.

Meanwhile, with his 76th-minute introduction, Jeff Larentowicz became just the fifth player in MLS history â€” and only the third field player â€” to make his 400th career league appearance.

As for Larentowicz's competition among field players, he's nine appearances back of Seattle's Chad Marshall, who has battled some minor injuries this season, and ... um ... only two-plus complete seasons from matching Kyle Beckerman's still-growing total of 472.
