It's official: Jeff Larentowicz will continue to be a member of the Five Stripes.

Atlanta United announced Thursday they have re-signed Larentowicz as a free agent, keeping one of their original players at the club for another season.

The 36-year-old made 27 regular season appearances for Atlanta in 2019 and played in three Audi MLS Cup Playoffs games, while also helping them win the U.S. Open Cup and Campeones Cup, scoring a goal in the latter competition to help them lift the title.

“Jeff has played an important role for our team over the past three seasons and we’re pleased to have re-signed him,” said Atlanta United vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra in a team statement. “Since joining the club, he has been a consummate professional and his experience and leadership have been invaluable for our group.”

Larentowicz's professional career spans 15 seasons, and he has played for the New England Revolution, Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire and LA Galaxy in addition to Atlanta United, winning two MLS Cups and two U.S. Open Cup titles in all to date.

Atlanta United kick off the 2020 MLS regular season on Feb. 29 against expansion team Nashville SC at Nissan Stadium.
