TRANSFER TRACKERS STATUS:Waived
Atlanta United have waived forward Adam Jahn, the club announced Tuesday. The 30-year-old spent the 2020 season with the Five Stripes, contributing three goals and two assists in 21 games (13 starts).
“Adam was a true professional during his time here and we want to thank him for his contributions to the club,” Atlanta United vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a team release. “We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
Jahn first joined Atlanta in January 2020 via a transfer from USL Championship side Phoenix Rising, with homegrown winger Lagos Kunga loaned out in the other direction. The move marked Jahn’s MLS return after he spent 2013-18 in the league, initially with the San Jose Earthquakes and then with Columbus Crew SC. In 124 MLS appearances (40 starts), Jahn has scored 15 times and chipped in four assists.
As Atlanta prepare for the 2021 MLS season, new head coach Gabriel Heinze can turn to those like Josef Martinez, Lisandro Lopez and Jackson Conway in the No. 9 role. Martinez, the 2018 Landon Donovan MLS MVP, is coming off a season-ending ACL tear. Lopez is a veteran who joined from Argentine club Racing, while Conway came through Atlanta’s academy program.
