Some bettors are backing the US men's national team and Canada to get three points from their critical Concacaf World Cup Qualifying away matches on Thursday. The USMNT will be against Mexico in a huge rivalry matchup at Estadio Azteca (10 pm ET | UniMas, TUDN, CBS Sports Network), while Canada will be taking on Costa Rica at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica with a chance to clinch a spot in the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar (10:05 pm ET | Paramount+).

Mexico vs. United States Odds

The USMNT currently lead Mexico on goal differential (equal on points with 21) heading into the final three matches of the Octagonal campaign. The top three nations in the standings will earn an automatic bid to Qatar, while the fourth-place finisher will enter an intercontinental playoff in June against Oceania's representative.

The Yanks are underdogs according to the oddsmakers against El Tri Thursday night (10 pm ET | Paramount+, Univision) and by a substantial margin, according to numbers from BetMGM. But bettors are backing the USMNT with the belief that they can record a third-straight victory over their southern border rival and earn a first-ever win in a competitive match at Estadio Azteca.

The US were +333 underdogs as of Thursday morning, meaning a $100 bet on them to gain their first-ever qualifying victory (and second overall) all-time in Mexico City would pay $333. According to BetMGM, 64% of the wagers and 66% of the total money invested on the game are picking the USMNT to do just that.

Costa Rica vs. Canada Odds

The USMNT and Mexico are not the only North America team in action, as Canada will play at Costa Rica (10 pm ET | Paramount+) in hopes of clinching a historic first World Cup berth since 1986.

Canada head coach John Herdman and his men are atop the Octa standings entering the final window of Concacaf WCQ play with 25 points and are the only unbeaten team in the region.

They can officially stamp their ticket to Qatar 2022 with a win against Costa Rica on Thursday night. They could also clinch their spot with a draw combined with a Panama loss or draw with Honduras and a USMNT loss or draw against Mexico.

On the other side of the matchup, Los Ticos are currently on the outside looking in, sitting in fifth place with 16 points. However, Costa Rica are arguably in the best form of any country, going 3W-0L-1D over the last four matches.

Yet, despite the Central America side's recent run of play, the oddsmakers currently have them as +200 underdogs, meaning a $100 bet on them to defeat Canada and delay their World Cup celebration bid party would pay out $200. According to BetMGM, 65% of the wagers and 54% of the total money invested on the game do not believe that will be the outcome and hope Les Rouges end their World Cup drought with a victory.
