Charlotte FC are planning to start soccer-specific renovations at Bank of America Stadium in March 2021, per a report by Sports Business Journal.
Renovations reportedly include an update to the stadium's east end, where the supporters' section will be, a new players' tunnel and new suites for players and staff. Eight new broadcast positions are being added for soccer-specific angles, and the plans include expanding the surrounding plaza.
The project costs a reported $50 million and will continue during the Carolina Panthers' 2021 NFL season. The updates are expected to conclude by the time Charlotte FC enter MLS, though.
Charlotte FC are scheduled to begin play in 2022 and become the 28th MLS team.
