Momentum continues to build behind Austin FC’s 2021 launch in MLS, and now fans can get a glimpse into the inner workings of the expansion club’s soccer-specific stadium.
Austin FC president Andy Loughnane and Jonathan Emmett, design director for architecture firm Gensler, gave a behind-the-scenes video tour of how the stadium’s progress is going. Among the headlines? The venue remains on schedule to open in spring 2021.
As for finer details, Loughnane and Emmett walk viewers through the locker room, safe-standing supporters section, beer hall and merchandise store. There’s every detail covered from high-tech mesh seats to a canopy roof that’s designed to keep noise in.
