Chicago Fire FC on Thursday unveiled new primary and secondary jerseys, name the “Lakefront” kits, ahead of the 2021 MLS season.
The primary jersey is a navy kit that features red accents along the sleeves and sides. In nods to the people of Chicago, the neck tape reads “Bold. Brave. Big-Hearted,” while the jock tag features the four six-pointed stars from the Chicago flag.
The secondary jersey, also inspired by the city of Chicago, has a white design with thin navy horizontal stripes. It showcases the city’s flag with four six-pointed stars that represent major historical events: Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 and the Century of Progress Exposition of 1933-34.
The secondary jersey’s neck tape reads “Make No Little Plans,” a testament to the popular slogan from well-known Chicago architect Daniel Burnham. The jock tag features a red outline of Soldier Field, a monochromatic navy logo and the classic adidas three-stripe pattern.
Both jerseys feature a championship star from when the club won MLS Cup in 1998. Motorola, the club’s official jersey partner, is also displayed across the front.
