After a comprehensive midweek win over the New England Revolution, the Chicago Fire try to extend an unbeaten streak to three consecutive games when they host Minnesota United FC Saturday night.
The Fire (3-4-4) picked up a second straight clean sheet and moved one point below the playoff line in the Eastern Conference with a 5-0 win over the Revolution Wednesday night. Nemanja Nikolic struck for a first-half brace and Brandt Bronico, Nicolás Gaitán and Przemyslaw Frankowski added goals in the final quarter hour.
Minnesota (4-3-3) have only conceded once in three straight without a loss following a scintillating 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders Saturday night at Allianz Field. Ike Opara opened the scoring for the Loons before Cristian Roldan leveled with a stunning strike three minutes from halftime.
