For the first time since his move to MLS, Aleksandar Katai will play for his country.
The 28-year-old Chicago Fire midfielder has been called up by Serbia for a pair of UEFA 2020 qualifiers.
Katai will join the team for a June 7 match away at Ukraine and a home match against Lithuania three days later.
Katai has been capped six times for the Eagles since making his debut in an international friendly against the Czech Republic. He scored his only goal for Serbia in a 3-0 win over Moldova on October 6, 2016.
A year after scoring 12 goals and adding five assists in his debut season with the Fire, Katai has three goals and a team-high four assists and leads Chicago in shots (45) and shots on target (14).
