Columbus Crew SC announced on Tuesday that the club have signed 21-year-old Venezuelan midfielder Eduardo Sosa
Sosa, 21, comes to Columbus after five years with Venezuelan club Zamora FC. The attacking midfielder recorded eight goals and six assists in 59 appearances and 38 starts in Venezuelan league action and Copa Libertadores play since debuting for the club in 2013.
“Eduardo is a player who at an early age has already proven he can compete at a high level,” said Crew SC sporting director and head coach Gregg Berhalter said in a statement. “Zamora FC is known for developing players and the club has been great to work with. We believe Eduardo has high potential and will fit well into our playing style. We look forward to working with him.”
Sosa helped Zamora win three Venezuelan first division titles during his with the club, and made 45 appearances across all competitions last year, recording all of his career goals and assists in 2017.
