The 2020 Concacaf Men's Under-20 Championships, originally scheduled to take place in Honduras between June 20th and July 5th, have been suspended amid concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the federation announced in a release on Wednesday.
The federation will continue to discuss reorganization proposals with member associations, FIFA and other stakeholders.
The United States had been drawn into a group with Jamaica, Costa Rica and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Canada was drawn with Mexico, El Salvador and Aruba.
Under the original format, the top three finishers in each of those groups were to advance to a 16-team knockout phase. The four teams that reached the semifinals were to qualify for the 2021 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
