Canada national team striker Jonathan David could be set for a move to English Premier League newcomers Leeds United, where he might even become teammates with former New York City FC winger Jack Harrison.

Ivan De Witte, president of David's current club Gent, told Belgian outlet De Zondag that Leeds are among the clubs that have expressed interest in the forward after he scored 21 goals in all competitions in an abbreviated 2019-2020 season (Belgium's Juliper league did not resume after halting due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in March).

Harrison helped Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League, appearing in every match of their 2019-2020 English League Championship-winning campaign, scoring six goals and adding eight assists.

His loan from Manchester City expired following the season, but Harrison has indicated he is open to a return.

The 20-year-old David is among several promising young talents for a Canada squad that is aiming to qualify for its first FIFA World Cup since 1986. He was the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup Golden Boot winner, scoring six goals in four matches.

Harrison spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at NYCFC, scoring 14 goals and adding 13 assists in 55 MLS appearances.
