Forward Cristian Pavon had surgery on both his ankles this week and is expected to miss two months. The player is currently with Boca Juniors, but spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the LA Galaxy and the club remains interested in bringing him back for the 2021 MLS season.
The forward underwent a posterior arthroscopy of both ankles Wednesday, per Boca. Should Pavon return to Los Angeles, he would be cutting it close when it comes to being ready for the start of the MLS season, which begins on April 17.
Though the saga has dragged on since his Galaxy loan expired at the end of 2020, the MLS club remains interested in bringing him back. As of last week, the Galaxy reportedly offered Boca $6 million for 50% of Pavon's rights, and new head coach Greg Vanney told The Call Up this week that a deal for the player is one "we'd love to get closed."

Pavon joined the Galaxy on loan in August 2019, and in a year and a half with the club played 35 games and scored 14 goals.
