From seeing red to scoring a golazo, what a rollercoaster week it was for Cristian Roldan.
The Seattle Sounders FC midfielder thought he’d miss Saturday night’s match against Minnesota United FC following a controversial sending off in Sunday’s 1-1 home draw against LAFC.
When that red card was rescinded by the Independent Panel following a successful appeal by the Sounders, Roldan had new life and he made the most of it.
Roldan unleashed a screamer just before halftime, a thunderous volley from distance for his second goal of the season.
After the game, he admitted the conditions were perhaps just right, according to The Athletic's Matt Pentz.
