It has been pretty quiet on the MLS Miami front in recent months, but David Beckham expects to change that soon.
Beckham gave an update on his proposed expansion club to EOnline on Thursday night, saying that announcements were forthcoming. Beckham did not divulge specifics, but sounded positive about his chances to finally find a location for the required soccer-specific stadium that will complete his Miami bid.
"We're pretty close to announcing certain things and then the stadium will come after that," Beckham said. "You can't build a stadium overnight, so finding the right site, finding the right place in Miami is important for us. But it will all start coming together pretty quickly and everything will start happening pretty soon."
Beckham announced plans for his MLS Miami franchise last February, but has had a difficult time securing a spot for a soccer-specific stadium in the desired downtown area.
