The Seattle Sounders took an early lead against the Houston Dynamo in Leg 1 their Western Conference Championship, and ultimately closed out a 2-0 victory, but it could've been even bigger.
With the Sounders up 1-0, Jalil Anibaba took down a streaking Joevin Jones and earned a 28th-minute red card for his troubles. Nicolas Lodeiro stepped up for the penalty only to be stoned by Dynamo 'keeper Joe Willis.
But could some shenanigans have affected the outcome? Dynamo center back Philippe Senderos was caught on camera perhaps attempting to tweak the turf as Lodeiro approached. Take a look for yourself, per Twitter user Bryan Babcock:
As you can see in the clip, Lodeiro claimed the space and set his shot. And maybe Senderos was just clearing his cleats. We know Seattle won, and while Nico's normally strong from the spot anyone can miss in the moment, but y'all think this kept an away goal off the ledger?
