Portland Timbers talisman Diego Valeri is the only MLS player to make the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Rest of World Top 50 Team of the Season, which was unveiled by the video game creator on Friday.
Team of the Season (TOTS) cards are created to recognize the best players from around the world. TOTS collections include cards for the English Premier League, Spain's La Liga, the German Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A, France's Ligue 1 and the rest of the world. The Team of the Season is part of FIFA 18's massively popular Ultimate Team (FUT) platform where fans can download player cards and build their own squad to play in the game.
Valeri won his honor in part for the performances that also earned him the 2017 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Award. Valeri scored 21 goals and contributed 11 assists last season, and has four goals and three assists so far this campaign.
