Se queda?
Edgar Castillo has been a constant source of hope throughout the Colorado Rapids' difficult season and the on-loan fullback might make his move a permanent one.
In a new interview with AS, Castillo tells John Rojas after the Rapids' 2-2 draw against the LA Galaxy on Tuesday that while he's not sure what the future holds, he would like to remain with the Rapids after his season-long loan from Liga MX side Monterrey ends.
"I would not like to go back to Monterrey, because I do not want to go back to Mexico now. I am very comfortable here, playing, enjoying it, with the confidence of the coach and having football that maybe I could not play recently," he said.
Castillo, a US international but a player who had spent his entire pro career prior to this season in Mexico, explained: "It's nothing to do with Mexico. And I'm still from Monterrey, but I would not like to go back just because I'm comfortable here. I wanted to come to raise my level and I have achieved it with that confidence and support that they give me. Now I enjoy it here more than there because I'm playing."
Castillo, 31, has started 22 of the team's 24 games this season. The attacking fullback leads the Rapids in assists with five and has added three goals, all of the spectacular variety (see above).
