Rolf Feltscher’s time with the LA Galaxy has come to an end, as the Venezuela national defender has signed with FC Wurzburger Kickers, the 2. Bundesliga club announced Wednesday.
Feltscher signed with LA ahead of the 2018 season and finished with two goals and seven assists across 57 MLS games (53 starts). LA said they were negotiating with Feltscher upon announcing their year-end roster moves, but the 30-year-old instead heads to Germany.
Feltscher, a Swiss-Venezuelan outside back who’s earned 26 caps with La Vinotinto, was part of two Galaxy teams (2018, 2020) that missed the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Defense has been a trouble spot for LA, whose negative-19 goal differential was second-worst in MLS this past season ahead of FC Cincinnati.
Before joining the Galaxy, Feltscher featured extensively across Europe. His longest stints occurred with Swiss side Grasshopper Club Zurich and German side MSV Duisburg. Other stops included Spain’s Getafe and Italy’s Parma.
