In one of the best match-ups of the season, the MLS conference leaders will lock horns this weekend. But while Sporting Kansas City is no surprise atop the East, few expected Real Salt Lake to be the team leading the pack in the West. GM Garth Lagerwey joins Greg Lalas, Simon Borg and Jason Saghini (making a surprise return to the show) and details the strategies, the turning points and the players that have made all the difference.
The weekend also will be highlighted by four CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals, including the El Salvador vs. USMNT showdown in Baltimore. US-born Richard Menjivar, formerly of Cal FC and currently with Atlanta, will be manning the midfield for a young El Salvador team looking to eliminate the US from a second straight CONCACAF competition. And he feels Baltimore will be behind El Salvador.
Finally, one listener has an issue with dual club allegiance by one MLS supporter. Can you really be a Cruz Azul and D.C. United fan at the same time? Can you support them equally?
