If you had to start a Major League Soccer franchise with just one coach, who would you take: Peter Vermes or Jason Kreis? That's one of the questions the guys pose to SI.com writer Brian Straus, who takes a look at some of the biggest storylines heading into the biggest game of the MLS season. Topics include the small-market complex of this year's Cup, the future of Kreis at New York City FC, RSL's legacy if they lose another big game and if Sporting Kansas City have emerged as a dominant all-around franchise in MLS.
The guys are also breaking down their picks for MLS award season, and welcoming ESPN color commentator Taylor Twellman to offer his up thoughts as some of the biggest awards are set to be announced. Did Caleb Porter deserve Coach of the Year? Will Nick Rimando finally get his due as Goalkeeper of the Year? And what does it mean to be the Most Valuable Player anyway?
There's also talk about offseason loan deals for Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzalez, thoughts on South Korea as a 2014 opponent for the US national team and Simon's take on why it's insincere to ask people at the office about their Thanksgiving holiday.
