The New England Revolution are well aware of the attacking threat that Atlanta United pose, but are quick to remind everyone that they can score a goal or two as well.
Atlanta's league-leading attack, boasting Josef Martinez, Miguel Almiron and Tito Villalba, will look to rebound from a 2-0 loss to the New York Red Bulls as they host the Revolution on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET | Univision, Twitter - full TV & streaming info), who are looking to get just their second win since June.
“We played them tough here at home and we have equal weapons,” Andrew Farrell told reporters ahead of Saturday's game. “We can attack them well and create opportunities. It’s more just can we hold up and shore up that backline and not allow them any chances.”
Head coach Brad Friedel echoed the defender's sentiment.
“It’s important that Atlanta should know we have some weapons as well,” Friedel said. “The game is going to be an exciting one and hopefully we do the right things defensively to be able to get on top.”
As for the Supporters' Shield chasing Atlanta, three wins out of three remaining games guarantees the trophy. Anything less opens the door for the Red Bulls to overtake them.
“We have three must-win games and you win the Supporters’ Shield,” Guzan said. “Everything still in our hands and still to play for. Against New York we never got going and Saturday is a chance to correct that.”
