It’s not quite the real thing just yet, but FC Cincinnati mark another milestone on their road into Major League Soccer on Wednesday as they face a league opponent for the first time in 2019.
FCC meet the Montreal Impact in a preseason match in Bradenton, Florida, for both teams the first such scrimmage of the year against outside opposition. IMFC have been in Southwest Florida since last Monday (Jan. 21), while Cincy arrived at the IMG Academy on Saturday.

As is customary, the 2019 expansion debutants have been busy building their roster over the past month or so, with hometown boy Nick Hagglund the latest to arrive via a trade with Toronto FC last week. The club are posting regular training updates on their website.
FCC have also brought Roland Lamah into the fold, agreeing terms with the winger last week after acquiring his rights from FC Dallas in the Expansion Draft. Both are likely to see action vs. the Impact.

The Quebec side have been working hard under the direction of head coach Remi Garde, competing in some unorthodox off-pitch activities to build fitness and unity among the squad, including both running and biking around a lake and paddling across it as a collective:
