FC Dallas concluded a back-to-back doubleheader of preseason soccer at Toyota Stadium on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to San Antonio FC.
The game, occurring directly after FC Dallas' win over Bayern Munich II, featured primarily second XI players and later, deep bench players, trialists, academy players and players for the club's USL League One side, North Texas SC.
San Antonio took the early lead, with Billy Forbes scoring on a back-post header off a set piece in the 7th minute.
FC Dallas’ Pablo Aranguiz earned a penalty a few minutes later, but his spot kick went wide of the target.
San Antonio doubled their lead just before halftime, as Amer Didic received the ball off a set piece from a similar spot as the first goal, turned in the box and hit an angled shot to beat Jimmy Maurer.
FC Dallas had to wait until the second half to put a goal on the board, before newcomer Zdenek Ondrasek scored on a deflected effort from the edge of the 18-yard box shortly after the restart. A few minutes later, Ondrasek sprung Jesus Ferreira for an equalizer, but the goal was chalked off due to offside for the Homegrown player.
San Antonio iced the game late, as a counterattack led to a goal scored by one of the USL Championship side's trialists.
