FC Dallas academy grad Weston McKennie completes permanent transfer to Juventus

Weston McKennie’s move to Juventus is now a permanent one, with the Serie A powerhouse exercising the purchase option on the FC Dallas academy product's loan from Schalke 04.


Juventus announced Wednesday that they will pay the Bundesliga club $22.2 million over the course of three years, with an addition $7.8 million possible if performance-based incentives are met.


McKennie, 22, is under contract with Juventus through June 30, 2025.

The US men’s national team midfielder has five goals in 31 appearances in all competitions since his historic move to Juventus on July 1.


He’s opened eyes, and silenced some doubters along the way, in an impressive start to his Juventus career. McKennie earned a start on his debut in September and scored a memorable goal against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the Champions League.
