Zlatan Ibrahimovic may never retire.
The 38-year-old Swedish superstar striker, who previous played two engrossing seasons with the LA Galaxy, officially extended his contract with AC Milan on Monday through the end of the upcoming 2020-2021 season.
After joining Milan midway through the recently concluded campaign, Ibrahimovic proved his previous success with the Galaxy was not due to stepping down in class by replicating it to the tune of 10 goals in 18 Serie A appearances.
With the Galaxy, Ibrahimovic scored 52 goals over two MLS campaigns, including 30 during a 2019 season to help LA halt a two-year playoff drought. In the process, he proved he had fully recovered from an ACL tear that ultimately spelled the end of a stay at Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic, who now has 100 career appearances across all competitions for Milan, scored 14 league goals during the Rossoneri's 2010-11 Serie A championship campaign and 28 the following season as they finished second.
