The inaugural Concacaf Nations League Group A semifinals and finals will be hosted in Texas, the federation announced Monday.
Houston is the location for both semifinals, split between BBVA Compass Stadium and NRG Stadium on June 4 before AT&T Stadium in Arlington will host both the third-place match and the final on June 7.
BBVA Stadium, home to the Houston Dynamo, will be the venue for the United States vs. Honduras at 7:30 pm ET while Mexico will face Costa Rica at NRG Stadium, home to the Houston Texans, at 10:00 pm ET. The stadiums are about 6.5 miles apart from each other.
The final and third-place match will be played in Dallas at AT&T Stadium, the 80,000-seated home to the Dallas Cowboys, as a doubleheader. The third-place match kicks off at 5:30 pm ET with the final following at 8 pm ET.
“The Concacaf Nations League group stages showcased outstanding football across our region and Houston and Dallas are ideal cities for hosting the first-ever Finals of this important international competition,” Concacaf General Secretary Philippe Moggio said in a statement. “The combination of world-class venues, passionate support, and diverse fanbases representing all four of the participating nations, ensure that these two cities are uniquely positioned to host a very successful inaugural event. Houston, home to the third-largest Hispanic population in the country, and Dallas, a proven soccer market, will host an unforgettable first edition of this new tournament.”
After advancing past Canada and Cuba, the USMNT are seeded third out of the group winners. Mexico are top seed after a perfect group stage record of 4-0-0 with a +10 goal difference. Honduras are second while Costa Rica are fourth.
