TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Retirement
Houston Dynamo fullback Dylan Remick announced his retirement on Sunday afternoon, ending a six-year MLS career with La Naranja and the Seattle Sounders marked by three trophy hoists.
Remick, 27, made 58 appearances (45 starts) in MLS regular-season play and played in three postseason games during Houston’s upstart run to the Western Conference Championship stage last year, highlighted by a crucial goal that helped the Dynamo upset the top-seeded Portland Timbers in the 2017 Conference Semifinals. He missed the entire 2018 campaign, however, due to an injury suffered in preseason.
A second-round 2013 SuperDraft selection by the Sounders, the left back was a member of Seattle’s 2016 MLS Cup-winning side and was also a part of two U.S. Open Cup titles, the first with the Rave Green in 2014 and the second with Houston this year.
It’s the second such development this week for the Dynamo, who also saw Andrew Wenger call time on his playing career on Friday.
