According to Blink-182, "No one likes you when you're 23," but FC Dallas probably beg to differ. Homegrown shot-stopper Jesse Gonzalez spent his 23rd birthday making his 2018 regular-season debut between the posts for Dallas, and showed up to his own party bearing gifts.
Gonzalez finished Friday's 1-0 victory with nine saves after a stellar first-half, during which he set an FCD-season high with seven before the break. The most prominent was a huge stop on Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco's penalty kick, which would have tied the game early enough to swing the momentum.
