Sporting Kansas City's Khiry Shelton achieved something few players have managed in MLS history during his team's MLS is Back Tournament opener against Minnesota United on Sunday night. It's a feat he is unlikely to want to dwell on, however.
After scoring with a near-post finish to give Sporting KC the lead in Orlando, Shelton then unwittingly bundled the ball into his own net in the second minute of injury time to present Minnesota with an equalizer. The night then got worse for Shelton when Minnesota struck a winner through Kevin Molino.
