TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Roster update
The LA Galaxy announced their end-of-season moves on Thursday, with perhaps the most notable news being the discussions taking place with midfielder Romain Alessandrini about a possible return for 2020.
Alessandrini, 30, has been a Designated Player for the Galaxy the past three seasons, but a knee injury sidelined the Frenchman for most of the 2019 campaign. He played just five regular-season games but returned in time to play a role off the bench for LA in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The Galaxy announced they have exercised contract options on the following four players: goalkeeper Justin Vom Steeg, defender Rolf Feltscher, midfielder Emil Cuello and forward Cristian Pavon, the latter's return confirmed earlier this week.
They also announced they have declined the options of defenders Diego Polenta, Joao Pedro and Hugo Arellano; midfielders Favio Alvarez, Juninho, Tomas Hilliard-Arce and Servando Carrasco; and goalkeeper Matt Lampson. Bradford Jamieson IV is out of contract.
Midfielder Uriel Antuna’s loan has expired while Chris Pontius has retired from professional soccer.
In addition to Alessandrini, the Galaxy are in discussions with Polenta and defender Daniel Steres.
