TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Re-signing
The LA Galaxy's defensive stalwart of recent years is back, as the club announced on Thursday they have re-signed defender Daniel Steres.
The 29-year-old returns for his fifth season, having made 102 appearances since joining in 2016 from the club's USL outfit, LA Galaxy II.
“We are excited to bring back Daniel to continue as part of our defense,” said LA Galaxy general manager Dennis te Kloese in a team statement. “He is an experienced player who brings continuity to our backline and we look forward to him remaining a part his hometown club.”
The Southern California native, originally drafted by Chivas USA out of San Diego State in 2012, worked his way through the USL ranks, at Wilmington Hammerheads and Galaxy II, before getting his chance with the Galaxy first team. In 2019 he made 30 regular-season starts for LA, tying a career high of three goals during the season. He's currently the second-longest tenured player on the team.
