TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
The LA Galaxy signed 18-year-old midfielder Adam Saldana from their USL Championship team LA Galaxy II, adding another talented young player to their MLS roster.
Saldana played 16 games for LA Galaxy II in 2020, and joined the USL team in 2019. Before that, Saldana was a member of the Galaxy's academy, playing in the US Soccer Development Academy playoffs in the 2018-19 season and made it to the quarterfinals of the Generation adidas Cup with the Galaxy's U-17 team. Additionally, Saldana has represented with the U-17 US men's national team and went to the U-17 World Cup in Brazil in 2019.
"Adam is a player who has developed significantly with the LA Galaxy Academy and LA Galaxy II, and we are excited that he has signed a Major League Soccer contract with the first team," Galaxy general manager Dennis te Kloese said in a club statement. "He has proven to be a talented player who is committed to growing as a professional. We look forward to his growth in the first-team environment."
Saldana joins a large group of academy graduates that are part of the Galaxy's first team, including homegrown players Efrain Alvarez and Julian Araujo.
