TRANSFER TRACKER: Extension

A move to Los Angeles has looked good on Ola Kamara, and the LA Galaxy are banking that continues for the foreseeable future.

On Wednesday, the club announced Kamara, who arrived in Los Angeles after an offseason trade with Columbus Crew SC, signed a three-year contract extension with the LA Galaxy. The deal was first reported by ESPN FC on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Norwegian has made four starts for the Galaxy, scoring on his debut at StubHub Center in a 2-1 season-opening win over the Portland Timbers. His 34 MLS goals in the two previous seasons rank behind only David Villa of New York City FC and Bradley Wright-Phillips of the New York Red Bulls during that span.

“We are excited that Ola will remain with the LA Galaxy in the coming years,” LA Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid said in a statement. “He has proven himself to be one of the most productive forwards in MLS over the past two seasons and we are confident that will continue as a member of our club. We look forward to him being a focal point in our offense.”
