The StubHub Center is home sweet home for Mike Magee.
Magee began his second stint with the LA Galaxy with a bang on Sunday, entering at halftime and playing a pivotal role in all four Galaxy goals in their 4-1 win against D.C. United. He picked up some recognition for his fine performance on Tuesday, when it was announced that the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) voted Magee MLS Player of the Week for the first week of the 2016 season.
Magee scored two goals, set up another from a corner kick, and earned the penalty for the fourth on Sunday. It's his first MLS Player of the Week award since the opening week of the 2013 season, when he scored a hat trick for LA against Chicago, where he was traded later that season. It is the third Player of the Week award of his career.
Montreal midfielder Ignacio Piatti finished second in the voting after his two-goal performance in theImpact's 3-2 win at Vancouver.
Magee finished 2nd in the Audi Player Index this week, behind Piatti.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
