Major League's secondary transfer window officially opened on Monday and plenty of team's have open roster spots that could be filled by reinforcements.

In recent seasons two teams in particular made key moves that took them from a good team and made them great.
Jermaine Jones
After an outstanding showing in the 2014 World Cup, Jermaine Jones decided to make the move to MLS and after some negotiations, Jones signed with the New England Revolution. The Revolution had made the playoffs the year before, but they really needed a star player to take them over the top.
The Revolution went 6-0-1 in Jones' seven starts down the stretch, leading New England to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and they would go on to make a run in the playoffs, eventually losing to the LA Galaxy in MLS Cup.
Didier Drogba
Last season, the Montreal Impact made a similar move to upgrade their roster.
After finishing last in the East in 2014, the Impact came out on fire in 2015, reaching the CONCACAF Champions League final. They started off the MLS season well too, but tailed off towards the middle of the season. That's when the club brass brought in a massive boost in legendary striker, Didier Drogba.
Drogba scored 11 goals in 11 games, helping the Impact capture the No. 3 seed in the East. Drogba and the Impact would go on to beat their rivals, Toronto FC, in the Knockout Round before falling to Columbus Crew SC in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
