NEW YORK (August 28, 2020) – Major League Soccer today provided an update on the results of COVID-19 testing for players, coaches, and staff throughout the league since clubs began returning to home markets following the conclusion of their time at the MLS is Back Tournament through the end of Wednesday, August 26

MLS will be providing a weekly update with aggregated COVID-19 testing results moving forward.
Major League Soccer COVID-19 Testing Update – August 28, 2020 

• The number of samples collected and tested was 18,646 from 1,455 individuals
  
• 8 of these 18,646 samples, which is 0.04%, have been new confirmed positive cases.
  
• There were 2 confirmed positives among players and 6 among staff members.
