If and when the Mexico national team qualifies for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they may want to ask midfielder Marco Fabian for travel advice.
Fabian is set to join Qatari side Al Sadd as the team's fifth foreign player, the club revealed on Monday, pending a physical exam.
The 30-year-old Mexico international moves to the Middle East following a year in the MLS with the Philadelphia Union, where he didn't quite have the impact that was envisioned.
In Al Sadd, he'll be joining the current third-place team in the domestic league of the hosts for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Fabian had seven goals and an assist in 23 MLS appearances — 15 starts — in 2019, a season in which he was hampered by injury and the emergence of playmaker Brenden Aaronson, who was arguably a better fit for Philly's high-press style.
