Raheem Edwards struck for a brace to lift Minnesota United to a 4-2 win over the Portland Timbers Wednesday night at Providence Park.
The six-goal thriller had some bangers, the first courtesy of Dairon Asprilla, who opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a blast from distance.
Edwards leveled six minutes later and then put the Loons in front for good in the 64th minute.
His second goal was the first of three in a 20-minute span with Thomas Chacon and Luis Amarilla extending Minnesota’s lead to 4-1.
Not to be outdone, Portland's Ken Krolicki added a golazo five minutes from full time, drawing applause from Timbers head coach Giovanni Savarese.
The Loons close out preseason Saturday against the Vancouver Whitecaps at Providence Park, while the Timbers host the New England Revolution in the second game of the doubleheader.
