A trio of MLS standouts visited the famous faces at ABC's “Good Morning America” on Monday morning, discussing their “secrets” to cultivating large followings on social media.
New York City FC's David Villa, Philadelphia Union midfielder Maurice Edu and New England Revolution striker Charlie Davies dropped in on the beloved morning show to talk soccer, Twitter, Instagram and more.
Villa earned some praise for the gorgeous goal he'd scored the previous day vs. Orlando City. Davies brought a custom Revs jersey as a gift for host Dan Harris, a Boston native, and discussed his twin sons, who were born prematurely earlier this year but are “almost ready to come home” from Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He also treated viewers to a few of his signature dance moves:
Meanwhile, Edu got some good-natured teasing about the photos he shares of the 400 pairs of sneakers in his shoe collection.
“The beauty of Instagram and social media is you get to just be yourself, be authentic,” he said. “Me, I’ve grown up always liking sneakers and so naturally I post sneakers and other fashionable stuff like that.”
