The New England Revolution had hoped a 1-0 win against the New York Red Bulls on April 20 would be the turning point for their season. But as it turns out, things have gone from bad to worse.
After starting the season 2-5-1, the Revs have dropped three of their last four matches and have set a new league record by conceding 15 goals in their last three matches. The 18 goals they have conceded in their four matches are tied for the most in league history with Minnesota United FC, who conceded 18 in their first four MLS matches.
This current streak started with a 3-0 loss against a Montreal Impact side that experienced some extreme travel issues, was followed up with a 4-4 draw against Sporting Kansas City in a match they were up 3-1 and has been capped off by blowout losses against Philadelphia on Saturday and on Wednesday night, when the Chicago Fire trounced them 5-0 at SeatGeek Stadium.
New England are currently on pace to concede 85 goals, which would shatter Orlando City's record of 74 set last year. They'll try to right the ship on Saturday when they face the San Jose Earthquakes at Gillette Stadium (7:30 pm ET | TV & streaming info).
