New York City FC's Heber gets one key detail wrong in pursuit of hat trick

Heber - celebrating - first goal

What do you call it when you score three goals but don't technically record a hat trick? Heber's Thursday night at Yankee Stadium.

The Brazilian New York City FC forward bagged his first MLS brace on either side of halftime against FC Cincinnati, and also got into it on the other end as well, heading Emmanuel Ledesma's free kick inside the near post for an own goal eight minutes before the break.

His first goal made it 2-0 in the 17th minute for the hosts, when he slotted home Anton Tinnerholm's cross from the edge of the six-yard box.

Ismael Tajouri-Shradi had already made it 3-0 before Heber had the misfortune to give the visitors one goal back,

But after potentially prying the door open for Cincinnati, he most likely slammed it shut with a stylish second, chesting down Maxi Moralez's service and firing a low volley past Spencer Richey.

It was his sixth goal of the season and put NYCYC up 4-1 at the time. The match finished 5-2.
