TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
The New York Red Bulls have signed homegrown defender Curtis Ofori through the 2025 MLS season with an option for 2026, the club announced Thursday.
The US youth international left back signed with New York Red Bulls II in March 2021, amassing experience at the MLS club’s USL Championship affiliate.
“We are very excited to promote Curtis to the first team,” sporting director Denis Hamlett said in a release. “Curtis is a great young talent and we have seen many great things at Red Bulls II, and we can’t wait to see his continued development over the next few years."
The 17-year-old has made 41 professional appearances over the last two seasons with Red Bulls II. Last year, he ranked second on the team in tackles (52) and tackles won (37).
Upon turning pro, Ofori became the youngest signing in Red Bulls II history at 15 years and 122 days old. Ofori joined Red Bulls Academy in 2017, starting with their U-13 side.
“Curtis is a promising young defender that we are excited to see continue to develop in preseason and the future,” head coach Gerhard Struber said in a release.
Ofori, who should give depth behind fellow homegrown left back John Tolkin, was called into a US U-19 camp in April. He also subbed onto a friendly vs. LaLiga powerhouse FC Barcelona last July.
