The already injury-ridden Seattle Sounders attack will be without Nicolas Lodeiro for Saturday afternoon's match against Columbus Crew SC.
Lodeiro was apparently battling an injury throughout the week, and was left out as a game-time decision. Lodeiro was not included on Seattle's injury report, which is due 48 hours before the match. Head coach Brian Schmetzer will address the nature of Lodeiro's injury after the match.
Clint Dempsey has been slotted into the Uruguayan's playmaking role, behind striker Will Bruin in coach Brian Schmetzer's 4-2-3-1 formation. With Dempsey in the starting XI, Schmetzer has no out-and-out striker on his bench, though Lamar Neagle has played there at times.
Lodeiro is looking to build up some momentum ahead of the 2018 World Cup, as he looks to make the 23-man roster for Uruguay.
