Kaká’s re-emergence with the Brazilian national team continued on Thursday, when Seleção head coach Dunga called up the Orlando City SC star for World Cup qualifiers this month against Paraguay and Uruguay.
Brazil will host Uruguay on March 25 and play at Paraguay on March 29. Orlando City have a bye on the weekend of March 25, returning to action on April 3, when they’ll host Portland at the Citrus Bowl.
Kaká was on Brazil’s roster for qualifiers in November against Argentina and Peru, but did not get in to either match. He played 15 minutes off the bench in a 3-1 qualifier win against Venezuela in October.
Kaká, who has 17 goals in 61 career caps with Brazil, appeared in 28 regular season games with Orlando last year, tallying nine goals and seven assists. If he sticks in the picture with Brazil, he could be included on the country’s roster for this summer’s Copa America Centenario tournament.
Orlando will open the 2016 regular season on Sunday, when they’ll play host to Real Salt Lake at the Citrus Bowl (2 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
