The Philadelphia Union's 2020 away jersey isn't changing from the previous year. But it'll still have a new look to it.
The name across the front will be different.
The Union and jersey partner Bimbo Bakeries USA, the largest baking company in the United States, extended their jersey partnership through 2023 and part of the new deal includes the addition of Bimbo brand Artesano Bakery Bread across the Union's away kits beginning in 2020.
Soccer teams typically have the same sponsor branding on their home and away kits. In the Union's announcement, the club indicated this will be the first time any MLS team and their jersey partner have used two different logos on official matches jerseys.
“Innovation is a part of the Philadelphia Union’s DNA. We have consistently pushed the envelope in the MLS and I am incredibly proud to continue to break ground alongside our partner Bimbo by being the first in the league to introduce differing logos on the primary and secondary kits,” Philadelphia Union president Tim McDermott said in a club statement.
